We Are Family
Helloooo!
Well, this IS a treat...me blogging twice in as many weeks, you'd think it was a New Year or something! Today's blog is a bit self-indulgent, but it is written to tell you this:
I love love. And I love family.
For Christmas, I decided it would be a great idea to organise a 'family photoshoot' as a gift to my parents and brother, mostly because I knew it would mean a lot to my parents, mom in particular always comments on the fact we don't have a great deal of photographs of the four of us. Now you should know by now there was only going to be one photographer who was going to be asked.
Bring in James Melia. If you have browsed through my blog, you will know that he is someone I am fairly (extremely) fond of; not only because he is a massively talented photographer, but he has a way of making you feel like you're supposed to be in front of the camera - to me, that is one helluva skill to have! I have blogged about James here, here, and here before :)
I was also mega cheeky and asked Jo Bilham if she would come and do the ladies' make-up, you know, to make us look pretty n that. Jo and James came over on boxing day (dedicated or what??), met my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, had lunch and out we went in the incredibly high winds to be papped. I don't think I really need to say this as it is very evident from the photographs, but we had A LOT of fun and laughed pretty much non-stop.
James and Jo were also kind enough to travel with us down the road to the care home where my grandad lives. He won't remember these photographs being taken, but we will, and I know he will be very grateful to have them.
